Frequently Asked Questions

Can I can submit a claim to my own insurance company?

Soffer Women's Care does not accept insurance, but we can provide you a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company. Some insurance plans may cover parts of your visit. Our office cannot submit it to insurance for you.

Will pap tests, labs, and imaging tests be billed to my insurance?

Yes, any labs (including paps, cultures, and biopsies collected in the office) will be billed to your insurance.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Your ID, medical records from previous visits for pain, bleeding or other gynecologic evaluations, and your insurance card. Although Dr. Soffer does not accept insurance as payment for her services, she will submit your insurance information to the lab, which can bill your insurance.

What will happen at my first visit?

Dr. Soffer spends significant time getting to know you, particularly during your first visit. A thorough history is important for understanding your baseline health. A first-time gynecologic visit will require about 30 minutes, and a first-time chronic pelvic pain evaluation may last 60 minutes or longer. Before your visit, it is important for you to complete New Patient assessment at home through the onpatient portal if you have internet access. These forms will take about 20 minutes to complete, so please take care of them before your visit.
